Shopping for a New Baby

In a few, short months, my sweet spouse and I will welcome a beautiful baby into our home. If your family will be expanding soon, consider purchasing some baby essentials sooner rather than later. For instance, you should shop early for a car seat, crib, high chair, baby monitor, and changing table. You might also wish to shop for a stylish tote to put bottles, diapers, and other items in when you leave home with your baby. Obviously, you’ll want to buy cute, comfortable outfits for your little one to wear. On this blog, I hope you will discover ingenious tips to help you shop for your unborn baby. Enjoy!

Storytime Activities for a Birthday Party

Plush stuffed animals that come with a series of books can be utilized during your child's next birthday party, both during activities that the guest of honor and their invitees participate in and during solo reading and play sessions that each guest takes part in on future occasions. Purchase some sets and determine how they will be used during the festivities.

1. Party Activities

Party activities can include showing the children one of the plush animals that you have purchased and allowing them to pass the toy around while you read a storybook that is associated with the animal. Children's books that teach a moral or that aid with letter recognition, consonant and vowel sounds, and animal classification will appeal to young children.

The reading of a book can be intertwined with another activity that is going to be completed afterward. For instance, if you purchased a giraffe plush animal and book set and one of the books contains colorful pictures of various species and their respective habitats, you can hold a drawing contest when the story is over.

During the contest, place the plush animal on a table and request that the children draw the animal and a picture of something that occurred in the story that was appealing to them. Upon completion of the activity, have the children describe what they have drawn.

2. Guest Favors

Party bags that are filled with candy or small toys, stickers, and other odds and ends can be more expensive and time-consuming to prepare, especially if you are determined to fill up each paper or plastic sack that is being handed out and wind up needing to use several types of favors to do so.

Purchasing sets that contain plush animals and themed books will supply your child's guests with educational favors that can be enjoyed when they are at home and these favors do not need to be bagged or boxed separately. Consider purchasing enough sets so each child who attends the party will be provided with an equal amount of gift items. Set aside the stuffed animal and book set that you'll use for party activities and line the remaining toys and books across a table.

Allow the children to select one of the animals and book sets. If more than one child wants the same items, use a numbering system and random drawing to determine what favors each guest receives.
