Make Your Outdoor Gazebo Feel More Comfortable And Inviting So You'll Spend More Time There

Blog

So you have installed an outdoor gazebo, and you're just not spending as much time in it as you'd like to. Don't let that gazebo go to waste – here are a few things you can do to make it feel more comfortable and inviting so you and your family is more likely to spend time in it.

Install a Plexiglass Roof

A great way to make sure that you can enjoy the outdoors and your gazebo even when it's raining outside is to install a plexiglass roof on it. By protecting the space from rain, you can furnish the gazebo with cushions and décor that don't normally do well outside to ensure that you're comfortable when you spend time in the space. And your plexiglass roof will allow you to still see the sky from inside the gazebo, which can come in handy if you want to star gaze at night.

To create a plexiglass roof, just measure the top surface of your gazebo then have your local home improvement store cut a piece of plexiglass to the same size. Take the plexiglass home and nail or screw it into place on the roof of your gazebo, and you can start enjoying your rain-free space.

Incorporate a Game Station

Encourage fun while spending time in your gazebo by incorporating a game station into the space somehow. You can fill a plastic storage tub with board games, Mad Libs, and comic books. Or set a bookshelf up and fill it with your games, a portable video player, and a few DVDs. You can put a plastic cover on the shelves to protect everything on them from the outdoor elements when they aren't in use.

Or furnish the gazebo with chairs that have hollow seats so you can store games and books inside of them. You can always install plastic or bamboo shades from the roof so you can close all the sides up when necessary to protect the games and electronics you choose to keep inside the gazebo.

Make Use of Extension Cords

Make lighting and electronic entertainment possible inside your gazebo by hooking a power cord extension cable up to a power source in your home and running the cord to the gazebo. This will allow you to plug multiple items in at the same time for ultimate comfort and convenience while spending time in the gazebo.

You can plug a light, video player, seat warmer, and even a portable mini fireplace into your power cord extension cable and spend hours inside your gazebo enjoying time just like you would inside your house – and you'll enjoy all the benefits of the outdoors at the same time.
